Who qualifies, and how it's checked

The student offer is for currently enrolled students; the military and responder offers cover active and veteran service members and, often, first responders. None of it runs on the honor system. You verify through a partner — Student Beans or UNiDAYS for students, ID.me for military and responders — and they hand back a unique code tied to your verified status.

That ‘unique code’ detail matters. These aren't public codes you can grab off a coupon page; a recycled one from elsewhere will simply bounce. Verifying yourself is the only path that produces a working code.
